Gus Fromuth, Managing Director

August “Gus” Fromuth is a long time resident of Manchester, NH.  One of the Founders of Freedom, Gus has worked tirelessly since 2006 to ensure that consumers and businesses alike has access to wholesale electricity and the deregulated markets.

Educated at George Washington University (BA) and Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, Gus served as a Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Trade Adjustment in the U.S. Department of Commerce from 1981-1988.  Furthering his step into the energy industry, Gus served as Vice President of Utilicorp, Inc. from 1996-1997 and currently serves as the Managing Director for Freedom Energy Logistics.

Bart Fromuth, Chief Operating Officer

Bart Fromuth currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer for Freedom Energy Logistics.  A graduate of Bates College in 2003 and Northeastern University Law in 2008, Bart joined FEL determined to further the reach of the deregulated market.

While working with Freedom, Bart has served as a State Representative for the town of Bedford.  Since joining Freedom, Bart has been a driving force behind the innovation of new products and offerings, including the addition of new partners and several wholesale product offerings.

Marianne Vetter,   VP & Chief Administrative Officer

Marianne Vetter joined Freedom in 2007 and currently serves as the Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer.  Marianne has served as the liaison between ISO-NE and customers purchasing directly from the wholesale market.  Marianne has been an integral part of building Freedom’s Billing Department and continues to encourage innovation within the department.

A native of Switzerland, Marianne graduated from KV Zurich Business School and has served in the financial industry for more than 20 years.  She is currently a resident of Manchester and enjoys traveling and exploring the great outdoors.

Kurt Chapman, Vice President of Operations

Kurt Chapman serves as the Vice President of Operations.  Since 2012, Kurt has been responsible for driving business strategy and supporting systems, including IT procedures, Salesforce development, office renovations, and recruiting.  His efforts are a major factor in Freedom’s sustained growth and being named to INC Magazine’s INC 5000 list in 2017.

A graduate of Bates College (2004) and Northeastern University (MBA, 2012), Kurt began his business career as an innovator in the waste water industry. He is known for his passion for problem solving as well as individual coaching and mentorship.  He currently serves Stay, Work, Play NH on their Development Committee and is a member of Leadership Greater Manchester’s Class of 2018.  An avid ice-fisherman and outdoor enthusiast, Kurt resides in Salem with his wife and daughter.

Janice Johnston, Controller

Janice Johnston joined Freedom in October 2011 as the Controller.  She is responsible for accounting operations including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of a suitable system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of reported financial results.

A graduate of Southern New Hampshire University, Magna Cum Laude, Janice has over twenty five years of industry experience, including work with nonprofit and state and local governments.  Janice enjoys spending time in the Lakes Region with her family.

Howard Plante, Vice President of Procurement

A resident of Manchester, Howard Plante currently serves Freedom in the role of Vice President of Procurement.  A graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology, Howard spent 25 years in industry and as a consultant in environmental and energy engineering prior to joining Freedom.

Howard is responsible for technical operations, including market analysis of pricing and load requirements, in addition to technical analyses of customer specific load requirements, pricing, and demand response.
