Choosing a career in the energy and healthcare industries has been a natural intersection for Jay Wilkes, whose 23 years of combined experience reflect his passion for building meaningful relationships and supporting mission-driven organizations. With 17 years in healthcare and 6 years in energy procurement and sustainability consulting, Jay brings a uniquely blended background to his role at Freedom Energy.

Jay joined Freedom Energy as Regional Sales Director, where he leads a strategic initiative focused on expanding Freedom’s presence in the healthcare sector. His work centers on identifying and developing key partnerships with hospitals, medical campuses, long-term care facilities, and specialty providers while helping them strengthen reliability, lower energy costs, and advance sustainability and decarbonization goals.

 Jay areas of expertise include electricity and natural gas procurement, energy efficiency planning, sustainability strategy, and carbon tracking. With a strong foundation in healthcare operations and a deep understanding of mission-critical energy needs, Jay approaches his work with a relationship-first philosophy. He believes meaningful partnerships lead to meaningful impact from supporting cost savings to fostering healthier, more resilient communities.

Jay holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Belmont University. Outside of work, he enjoys golfing, hiking, and playing in men’s league soccer.
