Client Spotlight: Cheshire County Courthouse

Keene, NH
Cheshire County voted to join the group net-metering program, administered by Freedom Energy, in partnership with Central Rivers Power. The county’s campuses, including buildings in Keene, the Department of Corrections, and Maplewood Nursing Home, require about six million kilowatt hours of energy per year.
Under their program agreement, Cheshire County will be a ‘virtual off-taker’ of renewable resources over the next 5-years. The hydro GNM program supports renewable generation in the state and is expected to save the county approximately $30,000 per year once implemented later this year.
We commend Cheshire County for having the foresight to take advantage of the GNM program that helps offset power purchasing costs and embraces renewable assets.
The GNM program offers tremendous financial benefit to NH Municipal Clients. We encourage all municipalities to review the opportunity.
